The Power of Products
No matter what kind of business you have, products are a powerful way to create a diversified income stream. For this post I’m differentiating products from live or recorded programs, coaching and consulting.
There are many types of products, so it is really up to each individual person and type of clientele that will determine the best products to create. Some of the most obvious products include books, music CDs, art prints/reproductions. But, there are many more variations and creative options available. Today, people buy podcasts, ebooks, even personalized coffee mugs.
Here are some questions to ask yourself to help you determine what kind of product might be appropriate for you:
- What do you love to create? Do you love to write? Do you have writings, stories, music or art?
- How does this relate to or inspire your audience?
- What is the unique message you bring? How is it best communicated?
- Where and how would you be selling it? Do you like to write, speak, or do workshops, in person or online?
